According to Dave Arbogast, founder of Arbogast Conversion Vans in Troy Ohio, the outlook for Conversion Van sales is positive. His 25 years in the conversion van business may give him some additional perspective other van dealers do not have. In a recent interview, Dave commented:
”In 2010 we expect to see a rise in conversion van sales based on a number of factors in the market. First, consumers are feeling more confident about the state of the economy.
Yes, their confidence has been shaken and consumer spending behaviors will not return without change. Many Americans are cutting back on expenditures and that includes overseas travel and high priced luxury goods.
With airline safety concerns on the rise and a weaker US dollar abroad, we are hearing that many US consumers considering domestic vacations and travel by car. Our customers have commented that traveling across the USA in an affordable conversion van or mobile home is something that they always wanted to do.
Gas prices have also come back down to earth so domestic travel by car or van is not prohibitive for many Americans. As more consumers get back to basics, we anticipate a strong pickup of mobile home and conversion van sales in 2010. It seems that for many consumers, it is time to explore and appreciate our great country and we couldn’t agree with them more!
At Dave Arbogast, we have the largest inventory in the central states to meet the consumer uptick in sales we expect in 2010.”

Tom Rasmussen, partner at Rasmussen Stewart in Crete Nebraska told us:
“End of year traffic has been strong with the GM product line. Consumers in Crete and Lincoln Nebraska are driving to our dealership because of our low overhead prices and these great incentives offered by GM.
Chevy Impala and Chevy Malibu along with Chevy Silverado trucks have been seeing the most floor traffic. Buick has also been a strong draw in this month”.
In other parts of the US, GM sales are confirmed to be strong in December. Johnny Bhatt from Midway Chevy, a Phoenix Chevrolet dealer, wrote in to say that he expects to have a strong December. The Chevy Camaro has turned out to be a very popular seller in Arizona according to Bhatt.

According to CNN Money, the Dodge Challenger was recently place at the top of Consumer Reports “Predicted Owner Satisfaction Survey“. Chrysler’s retro styled muscle car, is the car best loved by its owners according to the survey. The Challenger is one of the many former muscle cars in recent years that manufacturers took and modernized its design.
In the past five years redesigns of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro have pleased muscle car fans of the 60′s and 70′s. According Jon Sherrell, Ecommerce Director from Rairdon Dodge Seattle, the Challenger has been one of their top sellers in the Dodge line.
“Seattle Dodge owners love the Challenger’s new look, features and improved safety. Having an original Challenger in mint condition is not in every one’s budget. The 2009 Challenger has all the horsepower and responsiveness to please former Challenger owners who have fond memories of their high school ride.”
The Ford Fusion Hybrid was second place in the survey this year. Accord to CNN’s article “The survey which asks car owners “considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had it to do all over again?” tends to favor vehicles that people purchase for design, driving performance, or other emotional reasons rather than to simply fill practical needs.”
